I think that's how we were supposed to live. Simple. Nothing fancy, just enough to make us happy. We have gotten away from that and it's really too bad. Nice cabin!

I've been living in a 16 X 24 shabin for just over a year. No electricity and no running water. The wife and I have been having a blast. Hopefully start building the house next spring. We'll be going full solar since they want $60,000 to bring power in the half mile to the where we are going to build. I can get a complete solar setup for all my power needs for $16,000. That's awesome for the solar power. I hate the electrical grid.

Forget the ventless heater if you seal it up nice and tight with your insulation. Only place it had to pull oxygen was from around the windows which lead to massive condensation on the windows on the inside. At least that was my experience in my 10x16. Did a loft on each side of mine 5' off the ends, open in the middle. Did a barn roof style truss for a lil extra room. I am replacing my ventless heater with a small wood stove.

If theres a few cows and horses around id put a fence around the cabin, to keep them from rubbing on it.

Before you close it up on the inside, I would place headers above and supports under those windows like they should have been done. Good looking place though.

I don't think you'll like the paneling after a season or two. Humidity will cause it to warp after a short while. Any chance you can find some used galvinized tin for an old barn or shed? Quick and easy to put up and cheep if you have the right connections.

I think most of those fell in (or were squashed by bears). I like that story about Decide Lake Cabin when Archie came back from hunting and told people that Alan Koe must have got lots of caribou he's building a big box at Decide Lake. Might set tent at tin house this fall good big willow points in there for wolf snares. But I want to catch 200 mink and make 6 grand like Davie's plan. What were we talking about stayed at Police Cabin all night putting up the walls (to keep American refuges out, 😋just kidding) got the boats put away by 9 AM. Then cellabrayed Canada Day by saluting the Queen and watching NHL free agent frenzy on TSN. Really low water got stuck in Bennets. Read this when you sober up and tell me what you're talking about.

I agree with that, it use to amaze me the huge homes being built in Colorado and those people didn't even have any children. My wife and I live in a 900 sq ft house. You definitely trim the excess stuff. I like your cabin and I hope you enjoy it also.
