Archery starts Aug 24th here in OR

I ordered a new bow a week ago . Kinda last minute due to some shoulder problems

Hoping to be able to pull it back efficiently by last week of season

Im going either way as a caller or shooter ...............ELK fever

I miss Oregon elk hunting on the breaks of the sage and timber where you could actually see a good distance. So dang thick here that you can't see your hands in front of your face in broad daylight.

I had elk steaks for supper last night. came from a Mennonite that raises them for meat. delicious. I can buy from him cheaper than I can go to Colorado and shoot one

To be honest i dont know if my new bow is shoulder friendly. I just assume it should be better than the one i have now . Current bow is an old mathews LX . I ordered thw new mathews Traverse. Nothing wrong with the LX as i have killed many deer and elk with it but i feel like i am over due for an upgrade.

Yep..My back up bow is a Mathews Q2 Solo cam..I dumped my Hoyt RX3..last spring...now it's the PSE Evoke 35..It is so so smooth on the draw cycle..It's already got over 3000 shots on it..It's all for just that magical moment when he's 10 yards and the suns hitting him in the eyes and he bugles in my face.."One Shot"

I can catch them here...I can catch them ANYWHERE

Sounds like you have done your homework very well. With a little luck he should be yours !

I always liked PSE but went with the Mathews for no real reason other than my LX has been trouble free

I have a Wyoming general tag. Cross bow for me starting on the 16th of September. Outfitter on private land. Bighorn sheep rifle tag in Colorado before that.

We need pics of that beast chamacat. Good luck

Public for me, though I will ask permission and hunt if permission is free. I am healthy and enjoy walking still so lots of good public opportunities.

It is to hot. I don't get excited about deer and elk until October. I hunt bear in September because they are out in the open in the berry patches. September is for grouse.

Yep..Not to change the thread though..How many of you shoot 3D?...I have a great time all the time shooting 3D..There's a shoot almost every weekend in every state..Some of these people that shoot are flat out amazing archer's.I'm nowhere near that class of archers..however I shoot in their class.(My bow is the same class). If you never have done it try it..The people all there are really nice and helpful..In any shoot that I have been in...
