A. Light letters
The dark letters contrast too much with the photograph. Enlarge your father's name a bit more and see if that helps.

I prefer the light letters. The dark ones draw my eye away from your dad. I think the picture is more interesting than the type face. Eventually the customer will find the title, but the picture is what grabs your interest I agree.The dark letters seem too bold and distract from the rest of the cover.The light lettering is perfectly legible,while allowing you to look at the whole picture.

I prefer the white letters, though I'm not sure why. It just feels better to me.

I guess it comes down to how people look at a book. By the picture or by the title.

I think the black is too bold, stands out too much.
I think the white lettering looks much better with the black and white/gray tones of the dust jacket.
Eh...wot?
