Dark, unless your goal is the highlight the photo.
The light is just a good photo and some words.
The dark is Learning New Ways by Charles L. Dobbins and a good photo.

BTW, never knew his middle initial.

I like the dark. I noticed the photo before the lettering.

The dark letters contrast too much with the photograph. Enlarge your father's name a bit more and see if that helps.

I agree.The dark letters seem too bold and distract from the rest of the cover.The light lettering is perfectly legible,while allowing you to look at the whole picture.

I prefer the white letters, though I'm not sure why. It just feels better to me.

The Dark is in BOLD print, f the white was in BOLD may more people would like it. I prefer bold BLACK.

I think the same thing! To me, the dark is easier to read but, I like your dad to stick out. I guess it comes down to how people look at a book. By the picture or by the title.

I think the black is too bold, stands out too much.

I think the white lettering looks much better with the black and white/gray tones of the dust jacket.
