Bobcat attacks 4-year-old girl and her family at Arizona campground
Arizona Game and Fish are on the hunt for a bobcat that bit five family members, including a 4-year-old girl, Sunday evening at a campground in Safford, which is a few hours southeast of Phoenix.

The family was treated at an area hospital as a precaution for rabies, according to Mark Hart with the Arizona Game and Fish Department in Tucson.
Such attacks are "fairly unusual," he said.
Family was camping
Sunday's attack involved a family staying at Shannon Campground on Mt. Graham.
At about 8 p.m., the 4-year-old girl was playing around the family's tent when her mother heard her scream and found her being attacked by the bobcat.

Arizona saw one bobcat attack last year and one in 2009, he said.
Bobcats do not typically attack unless cornered or provoked, Hart said. Their typical response to humans is to leave, he said.
Arizona Game and Fish workers have set traps to capture the bobcat, Hart said.
They're asking anyone in the area to avoid Shannon and Snow Flat camps. Anyone who spots an aggressive bobcat in the Mt. Graham area is asked to call 623-236-7201.
