What is your "dream" predator trap set-up? Mine would be a Duke #1 3/4, #2, or #3 coilspring, 2 coil, offset & laminated jaws, base-plated, with free-falling, night-latched pan shank, a heavy-duty dog, 1 foot of #3 MB chain, 3 MB crunch proof swivels, an MB super-stake on chain. That is if I couldn't have an MB traps!

#3 Bridger. Dogless, outside lams, 4 coiled, offset with 3 swivels on a Wolfgang. Close second, No BS Extreme.

For coyotes - sterling MJ600 with three feet of chain and three swivel on a dog knot stake.

For Coyote's. KB 5.5 with outside laminations, 3 swivels attached to a chain wolf fang stake. Sexy set up right there

For multi species land sets MB550 OS 4 coil, with a JC Conner rod swivel attached to the D ring with a 30D nail J hook attached to 3 links of #3twist link then a crunch proof then 12 inches of #3 straight link to another crunch proof then 4 more links of #3 attached to a 30d S hook. anchored with a chain stake. I love swivels LOL


But my real dream trap would be the same chain set up with a similar trap with a 6 inch jaw spread , adjustable dogless

JC Connor's Jake Trap -- as is -- out of the box, but with some sort of LoJack recovery system built into it for thievery, which doesn't make any sense because that would likely cost ridiculously more than the trap itself. I's a dream trap so it doesn't need to make sense.

My other dream trap would be an LPC #4 double long, with a larger pan.

Mine would be a stock jake as well, with a chained super stake, and all j hooks welded. If you drive it in all the way no one is gonna steal it.......... ........too much work.

Not a dream trap but a good all-around trap for me is the Northwoods #2 coil. I have caught weasel to beaver in them here in Pa. My other go-to traps are 1 1/2 Victors and B&L #2 Double longs and double unders in all sizes.

Think Baca might have the right idea...The Jake comes loaded with everything a trapper needs/wants. But to each their own....with that said I do like my MB650s and Newhouse traps...lol

Bridger #4longspring with 4 swivels on 10 foot of #3 twist link chain with a sabertooth drag laminated with pawsitrip pan. Oh and center swiveled.

I would like a MJ 600 size and style cast jaw and wire lever set up with a fixed 3.5lb (no adjustment/floppy pan) below the jaw surface dogless pan like the K-9 extreme.

If noone else will say it I will... The ever elusive mb600. With cast jaws and put pan. So a bigger version of the mb550 with inside jawspread at six inches to make it legal in alot of states.

#3 Bridger 4 coiled outside laminations. Great holding power with little or no damage.
