I have picked up some traps that are brown dipped. The traps have some value to them. Should I clean the traps and if so how do I get them dip off of them. Or do I leave them alone.

Tough call, in my opinion. Dip is difficult to remove, in my opinion.

Probably depends on the value of the traps and how good you are able to remove the dip. I would suggest taking the least valueable trap, or maybe a user that was in the group, and experiment with dip removal. And then go from there, once you see the results.

I'm sure others will post with ways to remove dip. Good Luck. smile

For Stoe's trap dip....
A soak in gasoline for a few days and some work with a toothbrush might do it.
Carb cleaner dissolves it pretty good... and fast..
I have even had good luck with that Wally Mart super cleaner found in the automotive section... But it soaked for a few days

thanks to both of you. These are not real high end collectors but I just want to try and get the most value out of them. I will take one and give it a try. Thanks again!!
