I 'spect there's lots of folks here that use a metric boatload of sandpaper. I'm always looking and I go through a lot of it. Specifically, 80 to 220 grit 3x18 sanding belts. Nearest box store to me is 250 miles, so I'm looking for something on-line, if possible. I've been buying at Harbor Freight, but their sandpaper wears out extremely fast. Anybody got a hint?

Many thanks in advance...

Jack

You need to find a place that sells 3m or Norton.

Klingspor. Buy it by the pound. You won't find any better.

When I was building custom furniture we used the 3M brand. Really good stuff. Not sure where to get it other than a local hardware type store.

I like Norton alot but you pay more. I used the Ace hardware belts for years to. Should be able to find both online....even on Amazon. My French sources won't do you much good.

Just today I bought two ten-packs of 4" X 21" closed-coat aluminum oxide sanding belts, one ten pack in 40 grit and the other in 80 grit. The cost was $23.00 per ten-pack. I got them from Empire Abrasives.

These X-weight cloth-backed, bi-directional belts got good reviews. Hopefully they are decent quality.

Eh...wot?

We use https://www.mscdirect.com one of the largest around the USA. If they don't have some thing you want they can probably get it for you.

Many thanks for all the responses. I truly appreciate the help. I went ahead and made a couple of orders, one to Klingspor and one to Super Grit. Hopefully, I can find something with some life in it.

Again, much obliged, folks.

Jack

For the East coast people, Keystone Air Power- (717) 866-9224. They have a nice paper catalog that is full of power tools and accessories. Myerstown,PA.

I am a wood worker by trade. I use A LOT of sandpaper. I bought a 20# box from Klingspor about 2 years ago. You can't even tell I've taken anything out of it.

Heavy duty paper. No loading. Every grit you can think of or need.

I seriously don't know if I will ever need to buy sandpaper again.
