I wouldn't sweat it myself, but it'd be cheap to drain the oil and replace it for peace of mind. Water should be at the bottom if there's any in there.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Yep..I could be wrong..If I'm not mistaken there is a vent on the transfer case that is open to atmosphere..If the vent goes underwater then the transfer case can have water intrusion..If the transfer case oil is milky then you need to change it..If it's true about the vent
I can catch them here...I can catch them ANYWHERE

I had u joint another pickup make noise when back up slow, but sound different, it was deep as seen it in daytime another time after happen, an everyone was go though water in 1 side road, slow, I hit it at deep side at nite an at least 25 mph, an kept straight though it, scared me, if slower speed, it might floated to other side road, not see it till just bfore happen an not think bad

Clean them off with a bucket full of sailboat fuel, that’ll get the water out. You might be able to get it at your local hardware store

Sometimes if you are low on blinker fluid it will do that. Muffler bearings went out one time and made a similar noise as well. Hate it when that happens.

Ya, I don't think that problem nomore , drive thru water once. I just notice the noise of the first move of the day. When back up onto street from driveway. An hit brakes gone, try drive quiet parklot an not hear it agsin, it was loud just earlier. There other times when back up after sit awhile only, but hit brake pedal, nomore noise agsin until shut off sit awhile an back up , it could not hardly be rear brake shoe lining wore down bad, if front. Wear indicater. It do it all time ? Or more. Then what i mention. It been dry out an 1 job is gravel dusty parklot I park in, but no gravel roads other there, could dust got in drums an make noise when back up if rear brakes adjusting when back up ? I believe they adjust when back up
