It is about 18" long and 3/4" round. I've never seen one before.

are the eyes round or oval? majority of poisonous snakes have oval eyes. looks like a rat snake

Definitely looks like a milk snake. We have quite a few of them around here. Make great pets if you catch them at the right time. If they are too small, it’s hard to get them to start eating.
