i use the all the time. got on on a job right now. I like spy point, fairly cheap and very easy to use. it comes with it's own cell plan so you don't have to add it to yours. Think I pay like $120 a year or something like that

I have the Spartan Gocam. Had it up and running since May. Verizon service $5 per month ..no contract. One time connection fee $40. Also pay $3 month for Spartan app that allows me to change camera settings from my phone.

I love it. I'm about to put an external battery on it. It takes 12 AA and when it's on a feeder or corn and set on 1 minute pics. It takes about 200 a night. Had to change it to 5 minutes between pics.

I use them. I like them. It is pretty cool to sit at home and watch what is happening in front of your cameras at any time of the day or night. As I sit at home this evening writing this reply, the pictures are coming in from several cameras monitoring some big hogs. I have the wireless cellular cameras set up on traps and also in areas of activity to see what and how many of my target species (usually feral wild hogs) are passing thru and/or using the area. Having that information in real time is a great benefit for me.

The wireless cameras are not cheap though. I have the Spartan brand cameras. They used to be over $400 but the price has come down on some models to about $299. If buying wireless cameras for the Verizon system, buy only 4G cameras as their 3G system will become inoperable at the end of this year. Once you buy the camera, you have to register the camera and get service for the camera thru your cell phone service provider at a cost. Once all is set up and working, the camera will send each picture taken via text or email to your cell phone immediately. My cell service is thru Verizon, costs me $5 per month for each camera and unlimited texted pictures.

I just had a wireless camera stolen a few weeks ago. That hurts!

I think I'm going to have to buy one as well - but for a different reason:
We got some new trash living at the top of the hill here, and what a surprise - my USPS package was robbed first thing today like right after being delivered frown frown frown

SpyPoint has a new, small cell cam on the market this year, the Micro 4G. I see Cabelas will have it on sale next week for $120. I believe they offer a free plan for up to 100 pictures each month, with options for paid plans for more pictures.

The thing with cell cams is you need to have the camera in an area with decent cell reception. Most run on either Verizon or AT&T. a cell camera is only as good as the signal it can pull.

I would like to try one this fall. It would be great for monitoring a scrape line to see when bucks are hitting it consistently during daylight hours.

Big George, you're probably better off with a video doorbell like a Ring. They can be set to record on motion and even have a live view feature so you can access the feed and see what's going on whenever you want. And for $3/month they will store the recordings for 60 days.

Gotcha !!
if nothing else I may go with trail cams, as there's been an abundance of raptor activity here in my front yard, and I'd like to know who's doing what.
