Looks great. Brings back good memories with my grandpa in Texas. He had 500 hives. Miss those days. Thanks

A few years back the wife and I drove past a farm store with a sign that said "Fresh local honey for sale."

I said "Look, fresh local honey for sale."

She said "You can't afford one."

It wouldn't be so much work if I was better organized. I need to get a better way to get it uncapped. I dont use a uncapping knife, I dont like all the extra wax. I am thinking of getting the harmony Farms uncapper. I also need to get a electric extractor.

Yes it's for sale. 8 a pound 4 half pound. I sold out fairly quick with the last batch I got. Left a few people with orders in. I sold about half last time to one guy, we made a deal and he took it. I figured he will resale it.

Nice Jeff! I left a few frames in too. The fall flow will be here soon so should get some more then. Is the honey up that way pretty strong tasting?

We don't get a fall flow, by the time the Fireweed is done its the end here, might have two weeks left of it yet.

This honey is a combination of spring honey, that's mostly blueberry/cranberry, willow, and other berry nectar. Then the fireweed is the main flow.

The honey is real light and mild tasting has a flowery smell/taste, nothing else I tasted like it. Sort of like that orange honey they make in Florida.

I sent 3 lbs to a friend in Alaska last winter. The shipping cost way more than the honey was worth.

Looks good Matt, we've taken 240 quarts off ours so far this year, and will easily surpass 300 quarts. Everyone has had a great year around these parts

Looking good Matt. What’s your major nectar flows in Oklahoma?

I usually leave everything in 5 gallon buckets and bottle as I need it. When the buckets sugar up, I throw a band heater on them for a day or two to heat it all back up. Took off 36 gallons on July 7th. Probably do about the same in late September. September is Goldenrod time here in Pa.

To be honest I wasn't prepared for big honey harvest. I only have one honey bucket. I will be getting a few more and will be leaven it there till needed. I new I had 20 or 25 pounds sold so I just bottled it all. The main one in early spring is clover. Lots of clover close by with yellow hope and other wild flowers. The majority of that honey came from a hive in the middle of town and one at the river. The river stayed flooded all spring so I guess all the flower bloomed out after the water fell, dont know. The one in town must have hit all the gardens and flowers at people's houses.
