Been thinking the same thing. Not sure what I want yet. Big fan of Ruger and S&W. Might go with one of them.

Since when has "need" anything to do with buying a rifle?? Taking off that, by the time you'll "need" one, they are not going to be sold anywhere but the black market.

Love the bolt gun for hunting. Carry a semi-auto .22 on the trapline. Would like to get a .223 in AR platform.

In that case one would have needed a semi automatic rifle by now I would guess. But there would be plenty on the ground to be picked up as well.

I never have wanted one. Buying one out of fear a politician will tell you no someday is almost as bad as turning one in cause a politician told you too. If it ever comes to a civil war, I think I will acquire a real military weapon rather than a look alike.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Not that I really need or want one but with this latest mass shootings it looks like the writing is on the wall. It is only in due time the Republicans will start supporting these feel good ridiculous gun laws. I’ll purchase one just because the liberals say I shouldn’t have one. the modern arms of the day are essential to every free people to maintain a well regulated militia basically never been less expensive than it is now.. basic rifle kit this weekend seal ends at noon eastern Monday , and a 50 dollar lower your in for 350 dollars 35 more to add a decent rear sight and your shooting https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-m4-carbine-length-5-56-nato-1-7-nitride-rifle-kit.htmlyou will also want to stock up on standard capacity mags here is a deal for 1K rounds and 10 mags for another 330 dollars https://palmettostatearmory.com/fio...ase-ten-30rd-magpul-5-56x45mm-pmags.htmlalthough I would recommend using soft points for any sort of game or varmint if each man 16-60 was to maintain a long arm, a store of 1 pound of powder , 3 pounds of lead for his long arm , a blade , 3 days food and water. the modern equivalent could be considered a 223/5.56 rifle or 308/7.62 rifle , 1000 rounds of ammunition and 10 magazines , a side arm with 500 rounds of ammunition and 6 magazines , a blade , suitable clothing and foot wear as well as 30 days food and water. keeping the rifle 250 rounds of ammunition , the side arm with 90 round of ammunition , the blade , 2 changes of cloths and 3 days food and water ready for a moments notice
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
