Will a tranny from a 99 Dakota go into a 94 full-size pickup both have 318’s

I’m thinking as they are both 318’s they would but don’t know. A little more info they are both 4 wheel drive.

I looked up both transmissions on Car-Part. They show the 99 Dakota 4x4 auto as only the same for 98 and 99. The full size 94 only the same for 94 and 95. This would indicate that they would not interchange. I would talk to a transmission guy who knows MoPar transmissions. You should be able to look at the trans missions and see if they have the same shift linkage, bolt patterns both engine and transfer case ends, and electrical connectors. If they are the same, it might work. Sometimes they have minor differences such as different gear ratios in the gears but will work anyway. Look up the one you need on Car-Part and put in your zip code. It will show what is available. Then click on the distance header at the top left and it will list them as closest to you.
