Ospho Cleans rust and leaves protected coating on steel. Never use it on stretchers but I did on lots of car parts and they sat in the garage bare steel never rusted. Thanks
Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes...... Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

I wouldnt want rust wire stretchers to stretch pelts, the rust well possibly damage pelts, I have read that in later stages processing, that fall apart on rust line or slip or other damage. I used to shine mine up with lite steel wool in summer. Never took galvanizing off , i don't use wire much anymore an they just hang, I use all boards, if real rusty, i would throw away
