Polar Bear are in the news these days, what with all the climate change folks saying they're nearly all going to starve out any second now. Not counting Alaska (Duhhhhh), which U.S. state has wild Polar Bear closest to it's border?

Maine comes within about 650 miles of "normal"* Polar Bear range (*not counting oddballs that wander out of their usual range)

Northern Alaska has polar bear Not counting Alaska Adam. Lol I missed that part. I blame grandpa's cough syrup lol

Michigan UP or possibly NE corner of Minnesota Bingo! Michigan comes within about 325-350 miles of Polar Bear found along the south shore of James Bay. Michigan is also closer to wild Grizzly Bear than most think. There are the occasional Griz in Wapusk National Park, s.e. of Churchill, Manitoba.
