I guess I'm turning into a dinasoaur, but I still write checks. It works for me, and I don't want to change. Self checkout does not like my checks! grin

You must be talking about the Freestyle machine. Don’t know what Coke you were looking for but that wasn’t the only flavor out. There are “cartridges” of ingredients in there and lots of flavors use the same ingredients.

I kept track of all the places around me in PA that still pumped for you and would go there for gas. There aren't any left.

In New Jersey it is illegal to pump your own gas, an attendant has to do it.

Eh...wot?

Same here.

I really miss the days I could go to my local hardware store and the owner would see me coming and have a coffee waiting for me when I got to the counter. We would walk around the store BS'ing while we picked out the stuff on my list. Most of the time I knew the other customers and would make small talk with them.

Go to a big box store and you have to chase one of them blue or orange-smocked idiots down while they do there best to avoid you just to locate a product.

Eh...wot?

[quote=danny clifton]The point was they put them out of business with better store policies. Like promoting American made products, competitive pricing, no question return policy, could even get them to order any firearm they didn't have on hand. Then Sam Walton died. Now its all Chinese junk, will not order any firearm and handguns and many semi semis are not sold. If your coffee pot fails after a month of use you better hope you can find the receipt. I avoid Walmart as a general rule

This is exactly what happened. The company was built on American made products, then came the big ( bait & switch )

If you can drive a standard or set a trap you can figure out self check out. Seems most people who can't just don't want to. Seems i end up helping somone every other visit or so and with the older folks they will just sit there and complain the whole while I'm trying to help. Like one older lady was sitting at one of the kiosks looking confused and the lane manager was busy with somone elese so I finished and walked over and asked if she needed some help. She said she couldn't figure it out so I tried to explain it to her. Problem is the second explaining she staring going on about how it too complicated and how she can't work a computer. I say "Ma'am all you need to do is just pass the bar code ( I pointed to the bar code on her box of cake mix)over this area (I point at the scan area) it's going to beep then you place it in the bag. Then she starts going in about how the touch screen is too complicated and how "that heffier" who was helping somone else should be helping her because she's a senior. She only had 4 boxes of cake mix in her buggy but wouldn't even attempt to scan the rest of them herself. She just left the buggy with me and stormed off complaining.
