Any suggestions on a good heavy duty percolater.
Price isn't a issue but want one that will last long and
Doesn't have a flimsy stem.

Electric or stove top?

I like the look of stove tops and is what I use but I think the electric ones are better. My mother inlaw has a closet full of them. Every time she sees one for sale at a resale shop she buys it.

I have to admit mine is a very old sear aluminum one

but you might look at this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HZYPQV...aWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

it gets very good reviews , coffee people tend to give very technical reviews read through and see if it fits what your looking for.

I have an older one not sure I can help on what to get. I can say percolated coffee is my favorite way to make joe.

Bunn, just make sure you get the right filters. Makes a lot in about 3 minutes.

I can remember the percolator going at my grandparents when I was young. I am actually looking into a coffee press.

For stove top/wood stove summertime on stove and
Winter on Woodstove. I tried coffee all ways and I prefere
It perked. But I seem to only get about a year out of everyone
I have had. Almost always the stem or the bottom gets warped
And causes it not to perk well. Thanks for the input so far.

When i have time, i just boil the water, add coffee, turn it down so the water just rolls for about 2-3 minutes. Turn down to simmer and let it sit for a minute. Best i've had. When i get close to the dregs at the bottom of the pot(old blue camp one) i pour it in a french press.
If i in a hurry i use the drip trash method.

Never wash it with soap period.
the old tartar stains on the side add to the flavour every time it is used
when you have the right one it will perk then stop when the viscosity is reached for good java, when you are doing it over a wood cook stove.
Second hand stores have them when you have some people sorting incoming over 70 years of age, cause they know what is good and not.

Stainless steel Farberware...been using them for years..pick them up at flea markets and garage sales for $15-$20..always have a couple extra to give to whoever needs one. We have hard well water and they still work way longer than they should. They are still sold new but we find them elsewhere.

Bass Pro Shops sells a 12 cup stainless steel one. I have one and it works fines.
I have an old 20 cup aluminum one as well. Some times in camp, they are both perking away. I doubt there is any coffee that is as hot a perked coffee. Or better.

I can't add to the best pot to buy but I would say they all work well. I will add though, that percolated coffee is one great cup of coffee.
