You should check out CableAble on here. He makes impressive catches and his main vehicle is his car.

The seats go down giving you quite a lot of room but it was still a tad congested.
The milage was awesome, which was a blessing with the low prices. If the weather was dry or the ground frozen you could go just about any where if you used common sense. I have been severely stuck a number of times with a pickup but by being cautious I never got stuck with that.

Mac, the only times I ever got stuck with my old subs was in snow. Planted all of them one time or another in deep drifts, but in mud they were light enough, they hardly left a track. About like running a side by side. I forded a creek with mine one time, that had ice shelf on both banks and an open spot in the middle about a foot wide. Guy riding with me said he wanted out, and just called me crazy! Shot across that like nothing and climbed up the bank on the other side. The bridge had washed out since the year before, and I wasn't gonna backtrack thirty miles!

I had a 1965 Ford Falcon. That little car and I trapped all over Mn. Great little trapping machine. Wonderful gas mileage and easy to work on. The car had pause- e- tracktion great in the snow. Was like a little tank.

I trapped out of a rental car last January when my truck broke down and I needed to check sets. I didn't see anything in the rental agreement about not using it as a trapping rig so...

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I used a car for a number of years in my young days. The only time it let me down is when the trunk lock broke and all my equipment was in it.
Later on in life my wife and I owned a Mazda 323 station wagon that I drove to work 40 MPG front wheel drive, I used it to check water lines after work. A little better gas mileage than my '87 F250 4X4!

Most trappers could get by just fine with only a car. Not many around here ever leave the pavement, or shoulder.

I trapped out of a car for years when I didn't have money for a truck. 2x4 eye bolted to the roof for a canoe rack and the back seat out of the hatchback.

I still trap rats out of my Focus in the winter and more deer have been pulled into the trunk/back seat space while my truck sits in the driveway.

If your back seat folds forward and flat, that's a big plus. An Otter sled slides right in. Fill it up with the bloody/wet stuff...if you're worried about it.

The folding back seat and large trash bags and some Raid to kill the fleas. Those are the big things to keep on hand.

I trapped out of a Chrysler Pacifica last year! Had my best season yet! Folded down the two back rows and used the plastic luggage carrier I got free off of face book. I took it apart in half and it fit in the “bed” perfectly. Places all of my animals in there. From coyotes to beaver and so on. Was an all wheel drive and it did pretty good in the cow pastures!

I'd sell the car and buy a truck.

Full size trucks are clumsy during the off season if you spend any time in downtown.

I don't need the trunk to carry my purse in run so I can get by with a real truck, even in town. laugh

A hitch hauler can help hold gear and critters. You can get a hitch installed at a lot of Uhaul locations. I trapped out of a Honda Accord for a few years, and even hauled a couple deer on the hitch hauler. Thought I had a pic of a beaver and coon hanging out of the trunk, but i couldn't find it.

I started with a 56 Rambler station wagon, it had no license nor did I have drivers license, I was 14. Times were simpler. I carried a wash tub in the back, for the take. Worst times was twice coon hunting my dogs got skunked and I was too far from home to leave my dogs. And once my pointer got sprayed, just drive with the windows down at 30 degrees. Those were hard times but good times.

This is quite possibly the most hilarious thing on the internet!!!! If we could only see the reaction from the guy you returned this to. Sniffing all over trying to figure out what in the world that smell is. Ha ha ha

It would have been even better if when you saw him investigating the smell that you said it was "just some beaver". LMAO
