I have trapped beaver and otter for over 50 years and have yet to see aq beaver "toilet". If Paul Dobbins says they don't exist you can take it to the bank.

I'm not saying they don't exist. I'm saying I've never seen beaver scat laying out of the water. Rally's idea sounds like that's how it could have happened.

I have notice the last couple of seasons that the beaver are so smart in my area that they are coming out of the water to take a dump, just to throw the trapper off.
Granted it is not common with most beavers, just wicked smart ones. wink

I am thinking after all this what else it could be .I have see more than my share of Honker poop and not this .There is a pair of Swans that use that lake ,the thing that is odd is the poop is all in that 10x12 or so spot .

May be swan poop then. I've got two domestic geese and they sleep in roughly the same spot every night and that area is covered in poop. Unfortunately it's right outside my back door. mad
