Take the wear indicators off or replace the pads. We are talking disc brakes?

I Rock pickuo back forth other day an heard squeak in mid if pickuo or back somewhere by do it by hand an look under truck, I would think if wear indicater on front disc, it do it constantly, it did on my old S10

Its not that he doesn't have a jack, he doesn't have stands.

I've used cinderblocks in the past when I didn't have stands.

if it has a noise indicator - it should only make noise when the brake is engaged. if your not pushing the brake, and the tire is not spinning, it wont make noise

some only have visual indicators - the type of vehicle doesnt matter - its the type of brake pad that matters.

take the wheel off and look. you don't need a jackstand to remove a wheel and look at the brakes. dont crawl under the truck and make sure you put the wheel back on properly

I would suggest you make friends with somebody that is half mechanical

Just the oppisite actually.
They screech until you touch the brakes.
Easiest way to see if it's the indicater is drive it and noise should stop as soon as you touch the brakes.

Yes that way it supposed be, wear indicaters stop making noise when brakes apply, it was just doing it, after park while when back up, our driveway, into street, sometimes, outter pads look good, 1 inner ok, the other inner pad thinner. I had wheels off rotate tires, u can't see much more, on inners nothing more, unless on safe blocks or jackstands an put head directly under rotor, so ur face is under middle , I not doing that with jackstands if had them, could be u joint going out, I had 2001 S10 an made that noise, if u joint, I guess if well get more noisy before go out, 198,000 miles an original brake lining, was checked 23,000 miles ago at shop an rear was 50 per cent, they say front 40 per cent, I use gears with manual when braking an not heavy braker, was told factory original linings are best u can get , I hate go to shops, u get screwed , if u can do yourself, big savings especally when practically broke all time
