I've been busier than ever north of the border this summer with clients, and it's not over yet by a long stretch. I generally don't post pictures of clients but my favorite client brought his grand daughter and she had a great trip. I hope to put a bunch up in a month or so if folks allow it. Holy smokes Osky, those are some nice fish! I'm gonna guess 16 pounds on the northern and 26 on the lake trout.
Zim The pike was 46 inches plus... Somewhere north of 24 lbs. The Lake trout was 40 inches. I don't carry a scale but they had one that went to 38 lbs and the trout buried it. That young lady is 6 feet tall if that gives it a bit more perspective. Oskt

Osky, do they ice fish that lake? I love ice fishing lake trout. That lake is nearly 300 miles north of the border, no roads. You could get up there in the winter on the winter haul roads which are open to anyone. I have been on that lake when it was only partially open in the spring when the trout are up at the river inlets and I know there are much bigger trout than this one. Had a guy bring one in with an incredible belly. It was just better than 45 inches. Crow lake down by Nestor Falls is popular for winter trout and will give you some very big ones. Osky

I have fished Crow Lake, IMHO Lake of the Woods is better for bigger fish.
Those are the only two lakes I've fished for trout

very nice, musky fishin is really hot here right now. PC.. The muskies are starting to go in NW Ontario as well. I had a 2 1/2 day trip with some folks 2 weeks ago and we put 13 in the boat. No heavies, the the smallest was 38 inch the largest 42 inch. I love a good musky lake in the heat of summer with a wicked thunderstorm bearing down. The bite is intense. Osky

Very nice! We catch them big lake trout here on fort peck. A lot of fun to catch but not to good to eat.

Very nice! We catch them big lake trout here on fort peck. A lot of fun to catch but not to good to eat. Seriously? Put the slabs on tin foil skin down, season and add onion chunks on top, close up the foil tent style leaving room in there. Grill 20 minutes open the top of the foil, sprinkle over all the meat with shredded mot zarzuela cheese and give it a couple minutes with foil open to let that cheese melt in. Slide spatula between skin and meat and enjoy a terrific meal. Osky
