I am purchasing a dog for hunting coyotes and for my trapline. Any tips on training it to stay away from rattlers.

I've heard of guys using a garden hose to simulate a snake and a shock collar but then I have no experience in this meself.

They now have a vaccine for rattle snakes.

Google rattle snake avoidance training. We took our dogs to a class this spring, very well handled and done. They used live snakes and fresh snake skins. Yes they use an e collar but didn't force dogs into bad spots. The vaccine will buy you time to get to a vet but doesn't prevent reaction to a bite. Some bad opinion pieces out there but look at different classes and see if ones near you.

They folks that taught the class I went to had a class in Twin Falls and Elko both in June

Yes they do but my vet told me to save my money and give the dog an antihistamine and get the dog to a vet as soon as possible.

Sit on your horse on top of a ridge, look out across the country and tell me there is no God.
