Grandpa Trapper OP trapper G Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 4,942 Idaho Falls, ID	I am purchasing a dog for hunting coyotes and for my trapline. Any tips on training it to stay away from rattlers.

20scout trapper Joined: Nov 2017 Posts: 5,515 West Central MN	I've heard of guys using a garden hose to simulate a snake and a shock collar but then I have no experience in this meself. Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Some individuals use statistics as a drunk man uses lamp-posts — for support rather than for illumination. nvwrangler trapper N Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 4,844 Nevada	Google rattle snake avoidance training. We took our dogs to a class this spring, very well handled and done. They used live snakes and fresh snake skins. Yes they use an e collar but didn't force dogs into bad spots. The vaccine will buy you time to get to a vet but doesn't prevent reaction to a bite. Some bad opinion pieces out there but look at different classes and see if ones near you.
