Dave Parks, a retired NFL player has passed away. He was the second wide receiver to ever be the first overall selection in the NFL draft when he was chosen by the 49er's in 1964. He played for San Francisco for 4 years and New Orleans for 5 years and then the Houston Oilers for 1 year before retiring.

He played high school ball at Abilene High and college ball for Texas Tech.

I met Dave in 1960 and I believe he was the most pleasurable gentle giant I have ever known. He donated his brain for research in hopes of learning more about head injuries.

Rest in peace Dave, you were one good human being.

Sit on your horse on top of a ridge, look out across the country and tell me there is no God.
