The vast majority of important acomplishments in Western Culture have been achieved by straight, white males. Minorities, women and LGBT&Qs have accomplished very little in comparison in Western Culture. They have had some important accomplishments. There is nothing wrong about schools teaching of the important accomplishments of minorities, women, and LBGT&Qs. There is very much wrong with holding up their accomplishments higher, because they are made by people who overall are less successful. Saying the truth should never be considered racist. The truth is that straight, white males are the ones to thank for most of what makes America great. Holding straight white males back hurts all those that depend on them too.

Schools should encourage all students, not just minorities and girls.

I don’t care who is gay , straight, black , white , red , yellow, none of it makes any difference to me. I just don’t want my nose rubbed in it ! Why do some gay people feel the need to act out around straight people ? Is it because I’m older and they think I won’t tell them off ? I really don’t get why they feel the need to act the fool or over emphasize their gayness. Are they looking for confrontation, sympathy, a sign of acceptance, what ? I really don’t get it !

I just thought about something, how is it you know the curriculum and how it will be taught and therefore support it?

The problem is that they don't just want to be seen as equal to straight, white males, which is the way it should be. They want to be seen as superior to straight white males and special. Everybody should just be judged on their own accomplishments.

Just got in from work and was reading the post I only have one question .How some people on here can call themselves followers of Christ and see nothing wrong with this sort of thing? Just wondering?

If they want to teach that it’s a sin and it’s an abomination before The Lord Thy God, then I’m good with it..

Should schools also teach that God hates divorce, any divorce except for adultery is sinful, and that remarrying while your former spouse is still alive is akin to adultery? I mean as long as we're talking about teaching things based in Christianity that are harmful to society, why not?

Our public school systems are broken to the point of indoctrinating our children to the left way of thinking and I for one am tired of paying for it,

I'm not saying I'm okay with homosexuality, far from it. There's a big difference between saying "we used to throw people in jail for having sex with the wrong person, the Stonewall riots happened, etc" and saying "it's cool to be gay, God is okay with homosexuality, etc".

Bring okay with teaching LGBT history does not equal approving of homosexuality.

Now for the homosexual, Christians should love them. After all we are all sinners and not one of us deserves saving. As for the sin though, this includes adultery, we shouldn't promote it. If we are going to promote sin, we need an Adulteress History Month. Lol.

Teach history, but we don't need to know their sexual leanings. When I went to school we learned about George Washington but I don't think they mentioned him being a heterosexual, why not.

Of course I know it's agenda driven, and I'm opposed to that. My wife is from the Chicago suburbs, and I lived there for 5 years, sadly. I'm well versed in spotting Chicago style liberalism. I'm opposed to teaching stuff like "it's cool to be gay", I'm not opposed to teaching stuff like "Stonewall riots happened, we used to throw people in jail for having sex with the wrong people". Learning LGBT history doesn't make someone pro gay or anti Christian any more than learning about the history of no fault divorce makes someone pro divorce or anti Christian. That's just a silly notion.

And, you are one of some who only answer questions presented to you as you please, not all and that shows a lot.

Where you asked if I knew about what curriculum will be taught? I answered that fairly well in my reply to j station. Knowing the Chicago area like I do, it'll be very liberal, which I'm opposed to. But I'm not.opposed to learning about the history itself.

So your saying go for it even though it's wrong? After reading your post how does one know where you stand? Read your post, your saying that it is brought to you by a liberal bias but should be taught lol, whacky. I learned history and there was no need to mention sexual preference.
