I drew a Region H Wyoming deer tag this year and might not be able to scout and get some boots on the ground experience in the area before I go to hunt it next month. I have been looking at google earth non stop since I drew the tag and looked at some areas but without seeing it in person its hard to tell if it is actually a possible area to hunt or not. I am looking at some places in areas 152 and 153... if anyone who has hunted or knows the area can give me any information it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Josh

Wrong end of the state for me. Haven’t been in that area for about ten years, hunting elk in the Bridger wilderness
Don’t overlook the lower country. A lot of BIG bucks in the sage! They spend the day in deep ravines and come out to feed at dusk. Find high ground and glass at crack of dawn. If you’re rifle hunting and have a partner, one in the bottom one on top walk slowly into the air flow. Know a fella that has killed a few over 30” with this strategy.
Not all the muleys live in the timber! Best of luck to you!

X2 on the bears. I meant to mention that in my previous post udap bear spray is a good idea in that whole region. Grizzer bears are acting like they own the place LOL.

Bear proof containers are a legal requirement for that area. Bears in the Gros Ventre are a big consideration when hunting in those units. Hunt with a buddy! I hunt there regularly with friends and we make pretty significant grizzly cautions, electric fencing, bear spray and large calibers.
