I used to enjoy squirrel hunting, but the greedy loggers claearcut all of the old growth squirrel trees and planted pines behind them.

Now ducks and geese, but when dad had his old dog it was pheasants, nothing like seeing that dog work.

Hungarian partridge over a good pointing dog like a GSP, setter or wirehair.

Some of my best times hunting have been while archery hunting deer and camping in the National Forest in W VA . But I always thought the best way to hunt is to enjoy doing what is available at the time .

Not sure but I would say it has been with dogs. Junior in college we treed 75 coons in three nights with two good old grade coon dogs. Had pointers lock down on 11 coveys of quail and worked singles in a day. Several of us limited out on rabbits and ran near 12 beagles all day just chasing bunnies. Those were three very nice hunts. Most memorable probably my first buck ever with my dad next to me as a kid. Watching my son take his bb gun out the door and come back with two squirrels....More I think about it - its more of the memories of everything I have had a chance to hunt. We are truly blessed.

What makes me smile most is jump shooting ducks off of sloughs in the fall. Add a hunting dog having the time of their life splashing around in the water fetching in ducks, and that is one of the most pleasurable ways to make supper I know of.
