I will be there with my 2 bird dogs for a week in September as I usually do for sharptails, huns and sage grouse. I live about 30 minutes from Montana and spend a lot of time in the Rocky mountains throughout the spring and summer. Also a lot of time in the fall and winter on bird hunting trips further east. Yep, Montana is one of my favorite states here in the West.

Not to mention the people! Most would give you the shirt off their back, but don't cross them or you could find your picture on a milk carton!
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

hey wild Idaho,im from Missouri and have hunted big game in the west including Montana, id love to hunt those birds out there. Do you hunt public land and what part of the state? Same are for all 3 or different habitat for different birds? Shoot me a PM. In places the same area for all three. Other places just a species or two. Would be happy to help in a PM. Mostly public land.

We spend a couple of weeks in Montana and Wyoming every year and love it - just got back from Glacier National Park two weeks ago. Great fishing in Yellowstone and down in the Tetons along the Snake River. I always come home with a few more Newhouse's each trip - every flea market, etc out that way seems to have a few. You are right about the Newhouses. The couple I have picked up have been at yard sales/flea markets here. A couple old double longs.

Who else besides me thinks Montana is a beautiful state? I mean the mountains, open prairie land, and ranch land is so wide open and free! Indeed. A wonderful place in all respects. Not a few here also have similarities and ties with Alaska ,and visa versa , the same feel and values in common. Many places to find, where the best of both worlds reside, remote and town amenities enjoyed.
