Has anyone seen anything on the Harris Centerfire trap. He has been selling wolf models, and has been working on a 5.5, and 6.5 inch model but I haven't seen anything on them. Talked to him a while back and he was hoping to have them out this summer.

hahahahahhahahahaha!!! Warrior that's hilarious. They are a round jaw trap that has a dogless catch, like a monty or montana, on both jaws with a round pan centrally located than only has vertical movement. Just remembered that I have his phone number, will have to give him a ring later.

Hmmm, that sounds very interesting. I've had that very idea floating around my noggin for some time now just can't quite get it all to work out clearly in my mind. The closest I could figure out that works would be a rehash of the sterling mj/mb 650 double jaw hold down.
Can't wait to see this one.

Kim is a heck of nice guy ,,, he uses what he makes . His dogless design that allows the user to set tension one day and change the next is a big plus.
The no dead spot period is a big plus....
Going to be a good trap .
I would like to see 1/4 lams on it for myself .
I am trap poor,,,, or probably have give them a go .

red mt. Talked to him a while back and he was staight up, honest, and humble. Can't wait til he gets the smaller models out, will definitely add some of them to my collection of dogless traps. By the way, since you are from Montana, do you know a guy from Broadus by the name of Pat Rouland?

Here is the pic from the add in the Idaho Trapper magazine. I've emailed Kim about these traps. He will be at the MTA in Lewistown in September. I would like to put hands on one and check it out. Not sure if I'll be able to afford one, as I think the MB750s and Sleepy Creek 4 1/2's are spendy as it is, but I will buy one if I can swing it while I'm there at the rendezvous.

Yeah if I had a $100+ trap I would be VERY careful about where I set it. That's not an expense I can afford to lose.

Ken, that last sentence says it all! I agree on the rest too!

He was in springfield. Had a chain spring shock absorber -swivel device I liked and also the way he fastens the chain to the trap. that trap/ trapchain fastening system is going to get copied. a lot.

I'm intrigued. I see the spring swivel getting copied.

Just spoke to him a couple days ago. The 5.5 and 6 inch models will prolly be available after trapping season. His laser cutting guy has had a shake up of some sort.

Cool looking concept. That center swivel apparatus is not technically a center swivel. Sure it allows for a stable trap, but once the foot is caught and the animal pulls, it will not act like an actual center swivel. That swiveling bar had better be as hard an woodpecker lips to avoid being bent as the animals pulls.
I may well be picking nits here, but that is what I see. It may work just fine.
