I am planning a trip from Indiana to northern California, then to Portland, and back through Montana in the neat future. Anything or places you would suggest for me to stop at on the way, or the way back?

Hope you allow plenty of time, you will be covering a lot of territory. Depending on your interests, there are LOTS and LOTS of things to see and do on that trip.

You might give us a hint as to what types of things interest you - museums, hiking, historical landmarks - so that we can narrow down our suggestions to suit your tastes.

If you are taking 70 stop at the Badlands

To a person ignorant of nature, his country stroll is a walk through a gallery filled with wonderful works of art with their faces turned to the wall

The national bison range north of Missoula, Montana. Very well worth a few hours.

Yellowstone (WY), Devil's Tower (WY again), Deadwood, SD (not too far from Devil's Tower, WY) & Sturgis nearby, Mt. Rushmore, SD), Museum of the Fur Trade (Chadron, NE)...lots of stuff right there @ the corner of WY, SD & NE.

If someone has done better than you, you settled for less but, it's not their fault.

Semper Fi,

Bob

a multitude of things to see and do. If you are coming through SD I would recommend stopping at the Terry Rdlin museum in Watertown SD.I found that impressive and inspirational.
