Nevah see a Chevelle with Factory Power windows and a remote Mirrah either .... And AC too. AC was VERY RARE in my neck of the woods, of all the old Pontiacs I owned only one that had AC, bought it cause it had lots of rare options making it a great car to part out. Pontiacs, as mentioned were a step up from chevies, lots of plane jane chevies around back in the day. All the farmers bought them cause they were cheap. I had a 67 Tempest and a 67 LeMans Too. Bought both of them to part out. The LeMans was optioned nicely, 326, 4 speed, console, rally gages, posi, Red with Black interior. Lots of desirable parts on that one. One of the neatest things about '60's cars was the absolute amount of options available. New Vehicles now days have a fraction of the options available back in the day. You could option out the same car to be a luxury sled to a stripped out race car if wanted too. Things that are common today were options, backup lights, rear view mirrors, radios, power brakes etc etc etc. It’s got some other neat options too...

Never could afford a chevy , had a 69 Mach 1 w/a cobrajet in it . Several troopers tried to catch me but they couldn't come close !
My dad had a 59 Edsel he bought new just before i was born , I'd love to find it .
Those classic / muscle cars were and still are the best automobiles ever made .

You guys are making me second guess selling my 67 firebird. Thought it had a 326 original when I got it before I went into the USMC, and recently pulled it out of storage, only to find out someone previously swapped that 326 out for a 71 350. The 350 was dead tired so I upgraded the motor to a 67 400 325hp. Now I can send smoke signals if I need to. Anyhow, been back and forth on keeping it, and am leaning towards getting it to someone who can appreciate it more than my barn does. I would love to have another one, any pics?

Oh, and it was a convertible. Wow ! Its estimated that only about 150 of the 1138 were rag tops . How many were butternut ? Very few i suspect I believe the 410 rearend was also special order so you may have had a one only Im thinking a $200,000 dollar car today if it survived

LOVE old Pontiacs, Nessy! While I had a Chevelle, a buddy had a GTO and I learned a lot about working on cars on that one. Now I supposed about everything I learned from my gearhead buddies, from a tune up, oil change, etc. to changing drum brake shoes has all been obsolete for a long time! Still love a goat!
