Why? No other countries roll the red carpet out for us? What to change a country, change the culture first. That's what they are doing. America is slipping away and the brainwashed are accepting it with open arms. Someday they will wonder what they did but by then it will be to late.

If is see Press "1" for English, I go find a teller or go else where to do my business, more B.S. I will not use self check out lines. Two weeks ago I walked out of Wal-Mart and left item in the basket because they had 3 lines open and people backed up 8 deep.

Then If you finally get through to a "real" person, they speak broken English.

Not this again with the self checkout lanes!

I love self checkout. It reminds me of the commoners hard work that I don’t have to do anymore. Now that I have peasants to bag my groceries for me.

Businesses and government agencies in other first-world countries do provide customer and client services in foreign languages--usually English.

I'm tempted to follow Paul's advice and say what I really think, but then I'd just be called a troll.

The censorship is already on the way about 15 years ago.

Its the Liberal/Socialist/Communist way of changing our country and never recognizing the change incrementally.

To have a cohesive, well functioning society, people have to be able to communicate together well. The language of the vast majority of Americans is English. It should be mandatory that all foreign nationals must be capable of speaking fluent English before they are allowed to apply for US citizenship. Work visas should only be given to foreign nationals with a fair modicum of English. Refugees, who mostly should not be admitted, should have at least a basic modicum of the English language to legally enter the US, or failing that have to enroll and successfully pass English classes, or face deportation.

Half the country can barely speak basic English, and can't string a coherent

We can't legally deport citizens, except for a very few, specific crimes. We can legally control who is allowed to immigrate to our country. We definitely do not need anyone who can't or who won't bother to learn English.

35-40 million American citizens speak Spanish and the most of those as their first language of choice. That does not include the estimated 10-12 million undocumented persons in the US. With 1 in 10 or more already citizens and not speaking good or any English yes we are behind, but there are ways to deal with those issues and employers are finding ways to do just that.
