I just ground up some fresh beaver meat and want to preserve it for early season K-9 trapping. Not sure if my memory serves me correctly, but doesn't honey have some preserving qualities? I added SB, but I know it can take upwards of six or seven days to take effect. I made 5 pints of bait and aside from a few other ingredients I added half a pint of honey. Does anyone think this will help stop the bait from tainting before the SB kicks in?

puting it in a refrigerator is the best way I know to keep it fresh. adding a little water with the sb gets it mixed in better also.
