in 300 win mag? Cabelas, Sportsmans Warehouse, Bass Pro, and Scheels are all out. I can't find one on armslist, gunbroker, or gunsamerica. The plain stock, generally retails $1050-$1100. Anyone know of a new one for sale anywhere?
Pat, as usual, you are right....

One of these is easier to find. I put a timney trigger in mine and ordered it with iron sights for in case. Didn't want to be in the middle of no where with scope trouble and be unable to just remove it and keep hunting. Mine is very accurate. I'm not sure exactly how accurate because I'm not a great shot nor have I invested in competition quality reloading tools. I do know I can reliably hit a quarter at 200 yards with it from a bench. Other than the trigger I've not done anything else. Bedding is just the way I received it. Stainless steel and zytel make it a real weather buster. If your looking for a reliable accurate shooter mine fits the bill. I'm sure its not the only one. If you want to add to a collection sorry for wasting your time with all this rambling. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/828117959

the Kimber Montana in 300 win meets nearly the same specs 6 pounds 13 ounces , nearly the same price point
the kimber had been the lightest production hunting rifle a few years ago , seems Browning figured out there was a market for light guns and they were right it seems by the lack of them available.
the Tikka light also weighs in right about the same. the tikka lacks the threaded muzzle however and on a heavy hitter like 300 in a light rifle I would want a muzzle break it adds 2 ounces but removes 50% of felt recoil
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I put a timney trigger in mine too. Great gun. I just like the Browning. I also feel like with a 26" barrel I'll get a little more out of the 300 win mag. the Kimber Montana in 300 win meets nearly the same specs 6 pounds 13 ounces , nearly the same price point

ok wrong search i put in Hells canyon and not the long range , but everyone seems to be out of the lighter version also .
local independent gun stores that can check multiple distributors and get you the first one they find.
virtually all manufactures go through distributors most stores work with 3-4 distributors and can search their inventory to see what is available then they order it. if they check all the distributors and none have it , it is a waiting game.

I can’t find one either. Best of luck. Might have to wait for another shipment from Japan

All I can say is I’ve kayaked He**’s Canyon in June. Big fun. No shooting as it was a outfitter guided rafting tour, most of which I kayaked. I hope you find your gun and I’ll keep my eye out for ya!

Not trying to hijack your thread, but have you looked into the Christiansen Arms in .300? They are nice and light. Believe Mr. James got one last year. As far as Brownings, I haven't tried out the Hells Canyon, but have a Abolt II. love it as well.

Thanks Tman. I went by the Sportsmans Warehouse in Reno, their website said they were sold out nationwide. They had one in stock, but they don't anymore!
