I used a case steel and a jewel stick for years and was satisfied .My brtherinlaw just gave me a Hoffman steel he got in a box of junk at a auction i realy like this thing . Who makes your favorite steel

I use a Victorinox honing steel to dress the edges of my knives. I have one in the kitchens at home and at camp for my general use and butchering knives and one in the fur shed for my skinning knives.

Got one like that but in white. Carbon steel with diamond. I've had mine over 15 years and it still works like a camp

F-Dick. Especially like their hyper steel spring loaded sharpener. White is finer than black, but either will work.

I inherited his steel when he died.

It's a Foster Bros. steel...probably as old or older than I am.

Got the orange handle smooth F Dick steel I purchased from Horn. Good stuff

The one I have is 19 inches long and a wood handle. The steel itself is 13 1/2. Im sure its old but I don't know anything about it. I keep this one in the kitchen for touching up the wifes knives. Anybody know anything about this one? I suspect it belonged to a butcher somewhere.


Have a couple different ones in the fur shed. The one in my pickup when I'm trapping is a foster.
