I hope that you can work to change that.

Because of a difference in political views??? If that's the case it a sad one.
The hatred some have allowed into there lives is a very, very sad thing.

Actually theft and lies but my point is my family has principles. Violate those principles and you could face ultimate sanction. Trust me it's not taken lightly, the one I speak of was forty years of wrong doing and given ample opportunity before his entire line was cut off. Even then his heirs could've remained had they acknowledged his wrong.
We've yet to have such a discussion over politics but my lesbian cousin knows exactly where my side stands. Her brother has chosen to exile himself and not have any contact. The entire extended family knows where we stand and it's not republican politics but what God himself has laid out.

Nice picture. Yes that is the way it should be. I work with a diverse group of people. Very few supporters of the current administration in the White House. But we talk civil with one another. Respect each other's opinions and move on. Thanks for sharing

I don’t care care about anyone’s political philosophies. I used to hunt with a guy who ran for Mayor of Pittsburgh as the Socialist Workers Party of America candidate. My daughter is a big Elizabeth Warren supporter, canvassing for her campaign knocking on doors for votes. My aunts and uncles on my Dad’s side were or are all liberal Dems. My wife has several gay cousins and uncles.

If you only hung around people who thought the same as you it would be a pretty small crowd. And boring as well.

Great post. I don't judge anyone for their political views, despite the fact I may not agree with them. We are all Americans, like you said.

Lol Rusty.

I'm no Angel and won't pretend to be. That said, there are some people who i just don't like, and for many reasons but politics is not normally one of them.
My best friend, that him and i went thru thick and thin togeather was a democrat. He died of cancer less than a year ago and i miss him everyday. It's the person that allows things like Hobbie posted to happen, not their political preference. That fella and his whole family are a big part of my being, democrat or not.

Be a butt-head, get treated like one is how i roll. And you usually know how i feel. wink

I hear ya. To be honest, I don't talk politics with people in the street. Things go bad too easy. Also, I don't identify with any party. I'm an American. That's all. The party system is broke.

We rarely talk politics however having a number of businesses, we talk money and that often leads to policy discussions.

These are good discussions because often those “enjoying the ride” are actually unaware of the impact of politics on the “vehicle”, and the younger ones get to see it in action.

My best friend who I spent many hours with hunting, trapping and fishing was a diehard democrat. We would be at the gas station having coffee and argue politics. After we got done pointing out how bad each side was. The next question was what time we leaving in the morning. Politics was never discussed in the field. He died of heart failure while we were deer hunting 8 years ago. I miss him much. Lives and friendships are to important to be messed up by politics.
