All I can say is I have blood kin that will die alone and unacknowledged and will never rest beside their fathers. Just saying. I hope that you can work to change that.

Violate those principles and you could face ultimate sanction. Trust me it's not taken lightly, the one I speak of was forty years of wrong doing and given ample opportunity before his entire line was cut off. Even then his heirs could've remained had they acknowledged his wrong. We've yet to have such a discussion over politics but my lesbian cousin knows exactly where my side stands. Her brother has chosen to exile himself and not have any contact. The entire extended family knows where we stand and it's not republican politics but what God himself has laid out.

Democrats, Republicans and a lone Libertarian participating in a horseshoe and bean bag tournament after breaking bread together. Nothing but laughter and good times.

I don’t care care about anyone’s political philosophies. I used to hunt with a guy who ran for Mayor of Pittsburgh as the Socialist Workers Party of America candidate. My daughter is a big Elizabeth Warren supporter, canvassing for her campaign knocking on doors for votes. My aunts and uncles on my Dad’s side were or are all liberal Dems. My wife has several gay cousins and uncles.
If you only hung around people who thought the same as you it would be a pretty small crowd. And boring as well. The country needs more like that.

Great post. I don't judge anyone for their political views, despite the fact I may not agree with them. We are all Americans, like you said.

And that is the way it should be. Party-above-all folks are anti-Americans. We need to be careful, some are doing their best to ruin a great thing.

Lol Rusty. I'm no Angel and won't pretend to be. That said, there are some people who i just don't like, and for many reasons but politics is not normally one of them. My best friend, that him and i went thru thick and thin togeather was a democrat. He died of cancer less than a year ago and i miss him everyday. It's the person that allows things like Hobbie posted to happen, not their political preference. That fella and his whole family are a big part of my being, democrat or not. Be a butt-head, get treated like one is how i roll. And you usually know how i feel.

Also, I don't identify with any party. I'm an American. That's all. The party system is broke.

We rarely talk politics however having a number of businesses, we talk money and that often leads to policy discussions.
These are good discussions because often those “enjoying the ride” are actually unaware of the impact of politics on the “vehicle”, and the younger ones get to see it in action.
