X2 7 out of 8 of my skunks where at sets with skunky lures last year. And I only had skunky lure at about a 1/4 of my sets.

I hear banana smells work well. Anyone have experience with banana oil?

A 160 conibear, with fishoil and dog food. A killer combination.

Let me sugar coat this

Another set I like to make targeting just skunks; in a small cage place a slab of fat (trimmings from say a brisket). I cover my cages with black moisture barrier leaving both ends open.

fishy canned cat food with with conibear boxes or buckets. You get a fair percentage of no sprays with the conibear. Don't open the cat food cans, just punch holes in them, they will last longer as the mice can't eat it all.

Antelope, the original fast food!!

If your going with coni trapping have a 2x4 a couple of inches in front of the springs, their bellies with rest on it and the feet will be behind the jaws. Set up your pans much like Bctom cat has shown numerous times. The non-sprays will increase and your essence collection

Almost anything works for skunks. Everything already mentioned and I've caught them on marshmallows, grapes, and honey too.

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

I've used egg shells with grape jelly in them in cage traps. Works well for skunks and 'coon and cats don't bother them like fishy smelly baits.

Dog food would not be any choice for me I'd stay away from that at all costs!

I think I have caught skunks on every type of bait I ever used. Eggs that did not hatch in my incubators work really well for me for skunks, but opossums, coon, fox and coyotes love them too. The fox and coyotes will carry eggs really far from my egg dump and cache them all over. They just barely bury the eggs, which will explode, if I drive my riding mower over them or step on them. I have found eggs 6/10 of a mile from where I dumped them.
