I like orchestras too. But, there are some pianists that are quite amazing.
I feel the greatest pianist I've ever listened to was the late Sviatislav Richter. If you want to hear amazing, google and listen to his rendition of Beethoven's Appassionata, 3rd movement. It's almost unbelievable that anyone could play a piano like that.
The best LIVING pianists I've ever heard would have to be Evgeny Kissin and Anastasia Huppmann. Kissin is 48, but Huppmann is only 30 years old. She has the potential to be another Richter. Both are amazing.

I enjoy classical music and go to see an orchestra a time or two a year with the wife. Usually we go to see the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra but also the the MN Orchestra and Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra are in town. My wife is an accomplished pianist and cellist and teaches lessons for both, so fortunately, I get to hear it at home from time to time.

Don't know if I would consider that as classical, but it certainly is a classic. I loved the movie and this is a gorgeous piece,Who in their right mind could not love it? For me, classical is Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Bach, etc.

My wife is an addict for classical music and especially piano. I've gotten to hear the best in Europe. Not my thing but 4 or 5 times a year I love it.

Tell her to google Sviatislav Richter or Anastasia Huffmann. Huffmann is only 30 years old and amazing. Richter almost seems not human when you listen to him play Beethoven's Appassionata 3rd movement.
