Sorry for the late notice. The September monthly meeting will be Tuesday, September 3rd. The meeting location is still the same (Townsend Sportsman Club) and the time is still 7. Once again, sorry for the late notice, hope to see some new faces. http://www.delawaretrappersinc.com/

We will probably discuss our crab feast, so hopefully I can update with that information if we are having it this year. If you don't attend yourself.
The hunter/trapper education coordinator and the state furbearer biologist will be there also if you have any questions! They are great guys!

Anyone going deer hunting on Sunday or dove hunting on Monday for opening day?
Good luck if you are, maybe I’ll see you out there!

Went out if the afternoon on Sunday, didn’t see anything. A buddy of mine shot two does.
Hope to see some new folks tomorrow night at 7.

It was a good meeting.
Discussed the crab feast, it will be Saturday, September 28th at 1pm.
Discussed some of the trapping regulation changes that are proposed. They still need to be taken up for public discussion at the advisory council meetings. But look to pass without any issue. Proposed changes are: Fox season extended to begin November 1st. Cast jaw traps to be included as legal foot hold traps on land. Extending the muskrat season to March 15th statewide. I believe there are other ones but those are what we talked about.
Hunter/trapper education Coordinator with Fish & Wildlife talked about the upcoming basic trapper education course. It will be Sunday December 1st from 8-4 at the Little Creek Hunter Education Building.
He also discussed a trap display that hunter education is building to display the different traps and cable restraints, with descriptions of types of fur bearers trapped with each type of trap.
He is taking donations of traps and used equipment for the trap display and for using during set making demonstrations and fur handling so that students can get more hands on education.
Next meeting will be October 1st at 7pm.
