My truck gets new now but never had a problem with used. I just don't like to replace tires so often anymore I know how many miles to expect with new.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

If one normally bases ones decision on when to change tires based on the number of plys showing through, compared to how many plys the tire came with, than I would say that buying used tires would be a suitable option for that person.

Sounds like you're doing your homework and have some idea what to look for. If used is the way you want to go then go for it.

I use to sell used tires at a junkyard years ago. If anybody ever had a problem within the first couple weeks of buying, we would happily replace for free. I still buy used tires for my work truck, usually 40 bucks apiece mounted and balanced. Can't beat that with a ten pound bat!

I buy used tires all the time. I have a buddy who has a tire shop, he saves me all the good 15" for my trailers.

You can buy new tires on-line with free delivery for the same money as good used tires.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/SuperMax-TM-1-195-65R15-91-T-Tire/881537570 - $40 ea. NEW and no holes, patches, twisted belts and all the other BS you get when you buy used tires. There's a reason people took those tires off their vehicle.

For that reason an cost, was thinking try used, I see Walmart online has hannock tires I have on it now for $119, I pay $600 for 4 an that cheaper than other placez. They have new cheapy for $77, unless find quality brand tire for $50-$60 tire, risky, shop told me if buy new to spend at least $150 tire. Cheap brands wear out fast on lite truck, there is no used tire market at all in my area , 1 hr away, several bigger tire store

Used tires at a junk yard from wrecked vehicles are ok. Especially if you ruin one and don't want to buy 4 new ones yet but the three left are half wore out. Buy one at the junk yard and finish wearing out the other three. Then buy 4 new again.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Read carefully if you want to be safe,

"Every tire has a birth date—the day it was manufactured—and an expiration date that is six years from that manufacture date. Most automobile manufacturers warn drivers to replace vehicle tires after six years."

I am as cheap as the next guy, but with tires, I get a genuine thrill from the calming effect resulting from having new tires installed. It is like riding on a cloud compared to the hard, chowdered up scalloped old tires. A guy needs a few moments of bliss from time to time.

That is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Tires for your 2010 Colorado do NOT need to be anywhere near that expensive, especially with the motor and all the other problems you say it has. I know I already looked up your size tires and if you spend over $75-80 ea. you are wasting money. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Nexen-Roadian-HTX-RH5-235-75R16-108-T-Tire/43079514 here are VERY good tires 65k mile warranty and only $77 each brand new.

Not here you can't. Not even close to be honest.
It's been a while, but I used to buy used tires for $15-25. Every tire shop around sells used tires. And the ones I bought were always in very good condition, I've even got them with the nipples still on them. Now, for $40 I would buy those tires you linked. But I assume not all sizes are that price.

I've bought alot of used tires before, can get some very good deals. Just get them from good tire stores, and make sure price includes mount and balance. I got some once that just included mounting.

Let me sugar coat this
