Anyone on here from iowa know what's happening with the deer? I've herd lots of people talking about finding a lot of dead ones this year.

I've heard the same, but I suspect when someone finds one dead deer the number grows as the story gets passed along.

You could be right and I was kind of thinking the same but I had 3 farmers at church tell me they have personally found several each on their farms. That made me wonder if it's just a coincidence or if the rumors are actually true. I don't trophy hunt ( dont get me wrong, ill take a good buck if i can) but with 6 kids and the price of beef these days, I sure like to have my freezer full of deer to kind smooth out the grocery bill a little..lol

EHD?

Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes......
Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

Plenty of deer here. You can't drive 5 miles out of town at dusk without hitting your brakes two or three times to avoid them.

Not sure about Iowa but when someone complains about low deer numbers in Missouri it is usually some young dipstick that was not around in the 70s. We went from did you see a buck last season to did you get a deer last season. Then to how many did you shoot to what did your buck score. They all taste pretty much the same when properly handled. When numbers increase crap happens and always will.

Get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US.

How many deer do you take while hunting a year?

Not everyone likes me, but not everyone matters

There are some areas in Iowa that are experiencing significant EHD die offs this year. Warren County, south central, has been identified as the epi-center of sorts. The worst of it does appear to be in Warren and neighboring counties. I am about 2-3 counties to the east of there and have heard of just a few in this area, but according to many reports, the areas that are getting hit are getting hit hard!
