Long Term Care

Medicare Part G

You are an older senior citizen and you can no longer take care of yourself and need Long Term Care, but the government says there is no Nursing Home care available for you, what do you do?

You may opt for Medicare Part G

The plan gives anyone 75 or older a gun (Part G for gun) and one bullet. You may then shoot one worthless politician of either side. This means you will be sent to prison for the rest of your life where you will receive three meals a day, a roof over your head, central heating and air conditioning, cable TV, a library, and all the health care you need. Need new teeth? No problem. Need glasses? That’s great. Need a hearing aid, new hip, knees, kidney, lungs, sex change, or heart? They are all covered! As an added bonus, your kids can come and visit you at least as often as they do now!

And, who is paying for all of this? The same government that just told you they can’t afford for you to go into a nursing home. And you will get rid of a useless politician while you are at it. And now, because you are a prisoner, you don’t have to pay taxes. Is this a great country or what?

Now that you have solved your senior Long-Term Care problem,

The only place you find free cheese is in a mousetrap !

What a great idea!

But long-term care is no joke. A good many folks who thought they might leave something to their heirs will find their estate pretty well exhausted when they die.

9347.00 a month for my Mom in the nursing home. I've been writing the checks. Doesn't take long to wipe out the estate. Then you get to apply for medical assistance which is a whole other can of worms. Thank the good Lord that she passed away August 29. Dementia really sucks.

My Dad is 93 and in an assisted living facility. $4500/month. When he was young a man would work all day for a dollar.

It is great that your Dad can stay in an assisted living unit. Around here when they need extended care that cost doubles per month. Some places a tad less, some more.
My mother-in-law is 97 and in elder care. When her husband died 10 years ago at age 87 there was a goodly sum saved, which indicated their ability to save and to live frugally. Six months ago their estate ran out of money.
Unlike many my wife and brother--in-law chose not to disinherit their mother to save the money and let tax payers foot the total bill.
With these costs, LTC insurance is a good deal for many and that is why many insurance companies are opting out of providing coverage at instead of just raising premiums.

Bryce
