Adam, tell us all about Trapper Art's making and selling Leo Hoeft's Lures. It's good to hear. I hate to hear of old lures not being made anymore. If y'all can produce them like Mr. Hoeft did, y'all will have a good thing.

TRAPPER ART also made a pretty good video on coyote trapping in the north.

I am sure we would all like to hear the story behind this bit of trapping history as the Leo Hoeft also wrote in FFG, In the 60'S he wrote a great article on trapping coyotes in the snow, quite a few pictures, he was holding a number 3 long spring approaching a trail if my memory serves me. I will try to dig up the FFG this week.

Yes Paul it is true. We have acquired Leo Hoeft's lures from his estate sale last Summer. We have been working on them and made a new label for Leo's Line. We only are offering some lures till we can get more produced. They are on our new website which just launched. I am honored to keep Leo's lure line going. Leo is a legend and was an amazing human. A true outdoorsman who trapped a lot of woods country through the bounty years. Leo Bought fur, Raised fox, made his amazing trap baskets, made beautiful beaver hoops that he tanned himself, and of course made lures. Also did some taxidermy. Leo loved to fish, dig ginseng, and graft apple trees. I miss visiting him and talking about lures and the business. Leo trapped up till the age of about 92 and past at 94 in 2017. He will be missed by many. We will post updates on our facebook page.

Purchased several bottles of Mr. Hoeft's lures off trap shed a year or so ago, believe it came from his estate?

Haven't used it yet..Quite the unique guy from what I've read, not much info on paper about him that I could find but what I did read was pretty interesting...

Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes......
Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

Good to know the tradition and the product continues. I used several of Leo's lures over the years. It was impossible to buy a couple 4 ounce bottles from Leo at the rondy without him offering you an ounce bottle free of a lure he feels would work for me. My first bottle of lure I purchased was mail order in 1964 my sophomore in HS and it was one of Leo's lures.

Yes he is. Some of call him the bionic man as he as had a lot of body parts installed but he gets around quite well and shares his knowledge every year at our rondy and other trapping venues. He trapped with Leo for many years. He has shared some great stories when he and Leo were on the line together.

Thanks for all the support folks. We are excited and happy to keep Leo's name going.
Buck we won't probably have the coyote lures this year. The ones available are on our new website. Thanks everyone. Adam
