Ok...I’m not clear on using beaver meat for bait hear in Alaska. Can someone clue me in on the regs? Thanks
PS yes I’ve read the dang booklet plenty and can’t wrap my two brain cells around the passive aggressive word play.

That's a pretty good way to explain a lot of regulations.
I can't really answer your question, but it would be my guess that it's okay to use if taken while fur trapping, but if taken under some sort of subsistence food season (if there is one for beaver) I'd guess not

Lol. I’m confused weather the beaver is considered a game animal. Guess I’ll have to call the green britches. Friend of mine has a good spot. Figured I could use the bait...well minus the back strap, I’ll eat that.

In most units, you can use the carcass of furbearers for trapping bait. Some units specify that with beaver, either the hide OR meat must be salvaged.

Just doing what I want now.

It has never been a common issue, but technically it depends under which regulations the beaver was taken.

Beaver taken under the Trapping regulations are considered "furbearers." Meat of furbearers is perfectly legal to use as bait.

There are places where beaver may be taken under the Hunting regs. In this case, they are considered "fur animals."

From a practical standpoint, if taking the meat of an animal is REQUIRED, that is when you should not use it for bait.

Thanks for answering guys. I read the regs 10 more times and I feel it’s safe to say I can go ahead.
