Does anyone here have any experience with the wolf creek #2 & #3 dogless coilsprings? I've bought a dozen of each and have been trying to adjust the pan tension on them ( unsuccessfuly) by rounding the jaw and putting a file to the "latch" on the pan. I have 6 done but in the process 3 others have broken a spring lever. Any thoughts or ideas?

Make sure that you bubble weld the jaw tips. If you dont, there will only be a catch circle and a broken trap when you get there, the jaws pop right out. Other than that, they are good traps and will do the job just like the "high end" traps.

Thanks rhino, I like the traps. Good n heavy. And I've already bubbled the jaw tips ;-) if I could just get the pans set. I think a coyote could dance an Irish jig on them before they go off..lol. it does worry me slightly that I had some levers break, not sure what that's about yet. But bridger levers will fit so it's an easy fix.

Sasquatchtrapper,
Sorry about your troubles. Im not a big worrier on pan tension so i have never messed with it. But you adjust them the same as you would a Montgomery.
I have also never heard of a Spring pin breaking. Did you happen to touch them with a welder? That would make them to hard as they are high carbon steel.
Anyway let me know how many you need.
Please send to wolfcreekproducts@gmail.com
Thank You,
Glenn

I am not going to lie I was not aware wolf creek traps existed. The area I am moving to I am going to be trapping on a very large section of heavy hunted at times (worried on theft) land and at those prices I will be trying some. Also knowing that if i have an issue I can find the "guy" and he is a local trapperman.com dude i will give them a go. On the 2's and 3's I am assuming a 4 coil kit is easy to find to if I felt it needed one.

I have a kit for the #2 and am working on one for the #3s. Northwoods kits work.
Thank You,
Glenn

Will the 1.5 ever be offered in dogless?

If not someone needs to offer a true 1.5 PIT pan like the MB450 comes with.

The two flaws of traps are pan bolts and dogs.

Warrior don't the Bridger 1.5"s have a pit style pan just like the 450's? I don't have mine anymore to look at but i had thought they were pit style 1.5's.

I like those that pivot off the spring pin with tension adjusted by bending the dog. And it should be a heavy duty (read not likely to get bent) dog.
