Can someone please shed light on why a man that has so much talent, had (HAD) so much love of life ant the Christians around him, had so much love for Jesus...…. How did he ever turn into a Muslim, denounce all of his music, his gift to mankind and become a hater of humanity? My GOD ON EARTH WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?

This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. I guess it should just be appreciated for the beautiful hymn it is and maybe just pray for the soul that produced it?

The same mind that created that song turned to the religion of peace that we know and love. 70s were a different time.

Also we have a different taste in music. That is too soft for me. Goes in the same pile of garbage as anyone that would follow that nonsense religion. Im a bit biased against the ragheads though.

I'm friends of friends of Kat Stevens. I do not know him personally. But the one that I'm friends with is very strange and very spiritual and see/experience crazy things. And this from someone that is straightedge.

I will never deny a contribution of someone based on politics. That I can and will always assure anyone that knows me.

LIsten to his songs. He was searching for an answer his entire singing career to the source on of peace, religion and the ever after. Miles from Nowhere is a straight forward example.

I have no doubt that he was searching for something. I am at a loss that he was not saved. Very disappointing.

Sometimes people are so blessed the only trial is having one issue they see as devastating and wonder why God won’t take that issue from them. An example would be Job or Jesus.

Many who experience such an event will lose faith and turn to nothing or a “misery loves company” form of religion.

Kind of like the kid growing up with a father that gives him everything and then the one time he doesn’t, the kid loses his mind and goes out and joins a gang. lol

He's a great song writer. I like listening to his music. Some folks choose paths we don't understand, but who are any of us to say they re wrong?
I'll never know him, but I'm glad he made his music.

Is there not something in the Bible that tells Christians to let the judging of non-Christians to God alone?....Maybe not. But I don't feel that I am one who should judge him for the path he takes.

There's something in the Bible that says in Jesus's words, " I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me."
Not judging Cat, but if you believe the words of Christ as recorded, Cat chose the wrong path. If you don't believe the words of Christ, you have chosen the wrong path.

Having been a brother in Christ, Christians have a responsibility to provide wise counsel. That can’t be done without some degree of judgement.
