While recently wearing my Burley boots, I noticed the sole/tread beginning to separate. Is there a good adhesive that can be injected or smeared between the sole and boot for a good reattachment ?

I've had similar problems with other boots. You might find something good, but if I were in your shoes, (no pun intended), I'd start the process of cleaning the two surfaces as well as you can. Start with soap and hot water and eventually end up with acetone to give you a good surface for the Goop, Aquaseal or whatever else gets recommended here.

Good luck.

Pete

Was another post just a while back about gluing soles back on hunting boots..Someone with more shoe repair experience than most here suggest a brand of rubber cement.. Which right now I don't recall the name of???
I have done lots of repairs on the Burly type boots and waders mostly using Aqua-Seal. If I was going to do a sole like you speaking of. After knowing there is still good water proof Rubber cement out there. I'd probably clean it real well make sure it's dry. Do the rubber cement thing, then run the edge with Aqua-seal. I've glued soles back on with just the aqua-seal. But I believe the Rubber cement may have more flex and hold up better in long run.

Mine separated at the seam by the toe the new foam they use is a joke it rips very easy. I have boots I paid a lot less for that lasted as long or longer.

Barge might have been the brand of cement.

Super glue works surprisingly well for this application. I have done it many times.

The trick to any repair using any type of glue is surface preparation. Clean and greas free with no loose particles. If using superglue, make it the same texture as skin and the stuff seems to stick fingers best of all materials. crazy

Cabela's 02 octane boots are the best I have found they have 3X the padded liner and better rubber for around $100 they last about a hard year but the Lacrosse did not last any longer. I'm hard on boots I wear them about every day for 6-7 months around barbwire and dead cedar brush so they take a beating.

Would you have a link to those boots? I looked on the website and am not for which ones you are talking about. I love the alphaburly's. My wife needs a pair of warm boots and was going to buy her some alphaburly's, but will take a look at these cabelas ones too.

I have used Lacross trappers for a long time. I get a new pair every year. They last two years but have patches in them by the end of the first year. So I always have a spare in case I get wet- ask Art about that (ha ha on me)They seem tough to me, are this years ones different? Made different or with different materials??????
