The prairie potholes are covered this year also all kinds of waterfowl and shore birds.

Wonder where they went, cause SW Manitoba was barren last week, no rain ...no pot hole....no ducks.

I've hunted eastern Alberta for years and yes, it is truly amazing to see the quantity of waterfowl when things really start moving.

I went for the opener this year and we did OK, but late October is my favorite, although the snows and specks are mostly through by then.
