I use to love squash …. until one year on a far near me had a tremendous crop. The old man that owned the farm got sick and couldn't harvest it. SO I volunteered to help him out. I was about 6 or 7. I picked and delivered wheel barrow after wheel barrow full to his house. He finally said, that was enough and I could have what ever was left. Like I said, I loved it. I took a of loads of it home. Gave it away to all of my family members and friends and still had a couple of loads left. Mom fixed it every way possible and even canned some of it. AND …. there was still many loads of it left. So, I proceeded to sit down and eat myself full of it. I ate so much of it got sick sick and was sick for three days. And now even after 70 years later, I can't smell squash without getting nauseated. Didn't like to see things go to waste. I did the same thing several years later … same farm, same man, but cantaloupe or as we called it … muskmelon. Still don't care for that. Just goes to prove that too much of any good thing, isn't necessarily good for you. Just tp prove how long ago it was the old farmer plowed with a team of horses.

I brought in 9 buttercup or orange buttercup shaped squash to heal in my green house today, and piled up the vines. I had tilled in a "Mooregold" last spring, and let some of the seed grow, and got some odd colored buttercup looking type squash out of the deal. I am sure they'll taste like squash, lol.

Garry- I feel the same way as you, but not with squash, zucchini. I HATE zucchini!!! Years ago, my wife planted some zucchini in our garden. It pretty much took over the garden. We gave a lot of it away until we couldn't find anyone to give it to. Even our local food shelf wouldn't take any more. My wife and the neighbor lady made zucchini bread, cookies, cake, even pancakes with zucchini, and things zucchini wasn't meant for and man wasn't created to eat. If I order a salad and it has zucchini in it, I take it all out before I eat it. I love squash, but only Buttercup or Acorn. Don't care for the rest. My wife loves zucchini, but hates squash. Go figure......
