I just add large amount of fish heads an leftover from fillets fish to 15 year old commercial chest freezer that runs year long, almost 4-5 gallon buckets pack full , not much in freezer before an seperate packages that put fish in that were cool before out in an used 4 racks I had, I put fan to blow air on side freezer where compresser at as hot to touch an not keep hand on it much, an temp has gone up from -10 to +30 slowly, is this bad or shouldn't worry about it, ? It has high temp alarm. Not that high yet. If bed time soon an not want mess with it late

Sounds like you caught it in hot gas bypass or the defrost cycle. If it is a commercial freezer, it should have a timer to set when it goes into defrost. You can set it so it goes into defrost when your sleeping.

That's a lot of volume (4, 5 gallon buckets) to put into a freezer on a warm September day. It'll take some time for the freezer to cool all that back down.

Glad the temp is dropping for you.
